The initial impression upon opening this bird cage was not particularly uplifting. The scent that wafts from its interior is, unfortunately, a pungent chemical odor that seems to cling to every surface. While assembling the pieces, I found it relatively easy, but my concern lies in its overall sturdiness.

Despite its modest size for my cockatiel, this cage still manages to be substantial enough to provide adequate space, which is a plus. Its moderate weight distribution makes it feel somewhat heavy when you lift one end off the other, whereas more substantial cages have been known to tip over or wobble under that same load.

The ventilation system in this cage functions adequately during hot weather, allowing for good airflow and helping to dissipate heat.

I've grown accustomed to my cockatiel's antics with this cage. The mesh is robust enough that it resists attempts by the bird to chew through it, which is a relief given its propensity for chewing on various household items. However, I did find a small gap in the design where a toy can hang, which has led to some minor inconveniences.

The vet visit for our feathered friend was a breeze, despite his initial reservations. As he's an older bird with a bit of a fussbudget streak, we were worried he'd be nervous on the day. Fortunately, it all went smoothly and even he seemed to relax once we arrived at the clinic.
