We've recently moved house and our cats have been getting into mischief on the second floor - they'd be able to climb up onto our beds easily if we didn't have a sturdy gate at the top of the stairs. However, I had to adapt mine due to some factors that made it difficult to use.

I did some research and found that you could make a similar gate using a metal rod and some wooden planks, but it wouldn't be as secure as this one. Fortunately, I was able to modify it slightly to suit our needs, which is why we're still happy with its quality.

The gate is very sturdy and can withstand the weight of our cats - they love to climb up onto their beds, and they have a tendency to knock things over when they get excited! I've had to trim their nails regularly because they like to scratch the wall near the window. Anyway, it's definitely worked for us.

The gate is also easy to open and close, which is convenient for me as my kids are getting older. However, we do have some concerns about the locking mechanism - it can be tricky to use, but once you get used to it, it's not too hard. I've found that keeping small hands away from the task makes all the difference when opening and closing the gate. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this product, especially if you're looking for something similar at home.

It's genuinely been the best gate we've had - we wish we'd known about it sooner!

I'm thrilled with this purchase! The installation was surprisingly straightforward, which was a huge relief considering my two massive hounds have been attempting to scale our stairs. To prevent them from venturing upstairs again, I mounted it slightly off the floor, creating a clever hideaway for our grumpy cat. Since installing this brilliant device, we no longer have a cumbersome gate that's prone to sagging or collapsing, and its ingenious design allows it to roll itself back into place when not in use. What really impresses me is how stylish and sturdy this product is - I've attached 8 screws for added security, but honestly, the quality feels solid. We're thoroughly pleased with our purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to keep their pets safely contained upstairs. The price of £22.00 was a steal! It's been a game-changer in keeping our home secure, and we can't thank the manufacturer enough for this fantastic solution.

I was really looking forward to using this product, but unfortunately, my experience has been a major letdown. I had to attach brackets to the main body first and then remove the stickers from them before pressing them against the desired attachment points on the door frame.

It wasn't until later that I realized the correct method for attaching the gate was not to lift the main body off the brackets, but rather to carefully mark the holes with a marker. This would allow me to drill through the brackets and attach the gate securely.

The problem is that my top bracket seemed stuck firmly into the main body, so I tried to gently pry it loose without any success. Eventually, I had to resort to using a screwdriver to remove it entirely.

I'm now left with bruised and bleeding hands as well as damaged walls - it was an absolute disaster getting this product to work at all. The instructions clearly stated that the main body could be lifted on and off the wall without any issues, which is simply not possible if you can't attach the bracket in the first place.

I'm extremely disappointed with the performance of this product, and I would strongly advise others to avoid it altogether. It's clear that the manufacturer has made a mistake by producing something that doesn't meet its own instructions or specifications.
