I picked up this Child Safety Net mostly for cat-proofing my windows, but I think that's a bit misguided - its true purpose seems more about protecting our pets from mischief than safeguarding a toddler over a stairwell. It's made from lightweight knotless polyester and feels strong and well-woven to the touch, so I'm impressed with the materials used here.

The mesh size is small enough (4cm) that it won't block out any view when I want to keep an eye on my cat lounging in the windowsill. The net also doesn't seem to be a deterrent for curious little faces poking through the holes - which is actually kind of useful, since my cat loves to launch himself out the window.

The edges are reinforced with a thickened 8mm rope that I've found easy to install, and the tie cords have made installation straightforward. My only minor quibble is that adding extra zip ties for extra peace of mind was a good idea - it makes me feel like I'm not just relying on the net's inherent strength.

It's definitely a versatile product that could be used on balconies or railings if you're looking to cat-proof your space, and it does seem like it would work well with bunk beds as well. Just don't expect it to double as a cargo net - for lighter-duty needs like mine, this Child Safety Net is spot on.

I've got a garden safari hut that's perfect for keeping my dog safe from jumping over the sides. I was looking for something to enclose three sides, and this solution did exactly that.
